EAA is co-organizing with ACCA a conference aiming to empower university educators in accounting and finance to teach sustainability to third level students to best prepare them for the needs of organisations in the job market.

The Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems will host a workshop for PhD students and young researchers: From Draft to Publication: Secrets to Success in High Impact Journals. The guest speaker will be Professor Vlad-Andrei Porumb, Associate Professor (Reader) at the University of Manchester, Alliance Manchester Business School and the workshop will be held on 12/09/2024, 16:00, room 0129.
After the workshop, the professor will participate in a series of discussions on research issues with some of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems.
These activities are funded by the Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI) through the project PN-IV-P2-2.2-MCT-2024-0062.
His research work focuses on the effect of accounting, auditing, and banking regulation on companies’ earnings quality and debt contracting. He also investigates the development of the space economy and he is also interested in the role of individual audit partner characteristics in explaining variations in audit quality.
The professor has been a part of multiple projects that have been published or have been accepted for publication in prestigious journals (Contemporary Accounting Research, Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, European Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Abacus, and Journal of Banking & Finance).

Facultatea de Contabilitate și Informatică de Gestiune va găzdui o prelegere destinată studenților doctoranzi și tinerilor cercetători: From Draft to Publication: Secrets to Success in High Impact Journals. Prelegerea va fi susținută de către domnul profesor Vlad-Andrei Porumb, cadru didactic titular al Universității din Manchester, Alliance Manchester Business School și va avea loc pe data de 12/09/2024, 16:00, sala 0129.
Ulterior prelegerii, domnul profesor va participa la o serie de discuții vizând aspecte de cercetare cu cadrele didactice ale facultății de Contabilitate și Informatică de Gestiune.
Aceste activități sunt finanțate de Unitatea Executivă pentru Finanțarea Învățământului Superior, a Cercetării, Dezvoltării și Inovării (UEFISCDI) prin proiectul PN-IV-P2-2.2-MCT-2024-0062.
Activitatea de cercetare a domnului profesor se axează pe efectul reglementărilor contabile, de audit și bancare asupra calității rezultatelor companiilor și a contractării datoriilor. De asemenea, domnul profesor investighează dezvoltarea economiei spațiale, fiind totodată interesat de rolul caracteristicilor individuale ale partenerilor de audit în explicarea variațiilor în calitatea auditului.
Domnul profesor a făcut parte din mai multe proiecte care au fost publicate sau acceptate pentru publicare în reviste prestigioase (Contemporary Accounting Research, Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, European Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Abacus și Journal of Banking & Finance).
