Business Plan Competition – 2024 National Economists in Training Olympics
This year, the national phase of the business plan competition of the National Economists in Training Olympiad (ONEF) will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, from December 6 to 7, 2024. The presentations will take place on December 6 (Friday) and, if applicable, on December 7, 2024 (Saturday).
For the selection of business plan proposals, please submit your proposal, according to the template provided by the Association of Romanian Faculties of Economics, together with the declaration filled in and signed by each team member to decan@cig.ase.ro, by November 20, 2024.

International CIMA Business Game
Since 2019 CIMA has been conducting competition among Universities students in few European countries – the online version of the AICPA&CIMA Business Game.
This year, CIMA invites students from Romania, Greece and Bulgaria to join Ukrainian undergraduates. The competition becomes even more interesting!
At the end of the game, the player who received 75 or more points must take a screenshot or a photo of the screen showing his name and final score and send it to cima.see@gmail.com to receive a certificate.

Workshop for PhD students and young researchers
The Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems will host a workshop for PhD students and young researchers: From Draft to Publication: Secrets to Success in High Impact Journals. The guest speaker will be Professor Vlad-Andrei Porumb, Associate Professor (Reader) at the University of Manchester, Alliance Manchester Business School and the workshop will be held on 12/09/2024, 16:00, room 0129.
After the workshop, the professor will participate in a series of discussions on research issues with some of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems.
These activities are funded by the Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI) through the project PN-IV-P2-2.2-MCT-2024-0062.
His research work focuses on the effect of accounting, auditing, and banking regulation on companies’ earnings quality and debt contracting. He also investigates the development of the space economy and he is also interested in the role of individual audit partner characteristics in explaining variations in audit quality.
The professor has been a part of multiple projects that have been published or have been accepted for publication in prestigious journals (Contemporary Accounting Research, Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, European Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Abacus, and Journal of Banking & Finance).
