19th edition of the International Conference Accounting and Management Information Systems (AMIS 2026)

The Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems of The Bucharest University of Economic Studies organizes on 3-4 June 2026 the 19th edition of the International Conference Accounting and Management Information Systems (AMIS 2026).

The conference is co-organized with Krakow University of Economics, Poland and Prague University of Economics and Business, Czech Republic, as part of the Eastern European Group for Accounting Research (EEGAR) network. We are partnering in this event with:
➡️ International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER), which provides speakers for the plenary symposia and organizes on 1-2 June an IAAER–ACCA Workshop as part of the Early Career Researcher Development Program (ECRDP).
➡️ Accounting in Europe who is organizing a Paper Development Workshop for CEE researchers.

The conference keynote speaker is Professor Daniel Muzio, University of York, UK.

Papers are invited in the broad areas of financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting education, auditing, financial analysis, and management information systems.

Authors are invited to submit theoretical and empirical contributions. Various publication opportunities are available, in both international journals and conference proceedings.

2nd Accounting Forum Conference 2026

The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, through the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems, will host the 2𝑛𝑑 𝐴𝑐𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑢𝑚 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 at its premises from 1 to 3 June 2026.

Accounting Forum publishes authoritative yet accessible articles which advance our knowledge of theory and practice in all areas of accounting and related subjects and welcomes papers with an interdisciplinary approach in these areas.

In line with Accounting Forum’s vision, this conference aims to bring together researchers in accounting and related areas from varying viewpoints, approaches and paradigms; provide a forum for ways we might bridge the gaps in our understanding; and broaden the scope of discussions beyond our own research groups. As such, papers addressing any interesting accounting-related research question, using appropriate research methodologies and research paradigms, are welcomed. Innovative approaches are encouraged.

The conference will start in the afternoon of 1 June with the Emerging Scholars Colloquium – which aims at introducing emerging scholars, including PhD students and early career researchers, into the accounting research community and providing them an opportunity to present and discuss their research projects alongside a cohort of distinguished international academics – followed by two full conference days.

Consistent with its continuous effort to stimulate interest in scientific research among young people, as well as the steps taken to promote and increase institutional visibility, in line with tradition and induced expectations, the ASEM Faculty of Accounting organizes the International Student Scientific Conference (ISSC 2026) with the title The challenges of accounting in the view of young researchers, which will be held in Chisinau, on March 13-14, 2026. The event is aimed for undergraduate and master’s students and aims to achieve a useful exchange of ideas and knowledge transfer, promoting the results of research activities in the hope of stimulating their initiative towards academic level research activity.

CONFERENCE TOPICS:
  • Accounting and financial reporting;
  • Financial audit and internal audit;
  • Financial control and internal control;
  • Economic analysis and financial management.

CIG@ GoTech World

În perioada 11-12 noiembrie 2025, Facultatea de Contabilitate şi Informatică de Gestiune participă, în calitate de expozant, la GoTech World, cea mai importantă expoziție-conferință B2B din Europa Centrală și de Est. GoTech World atrage anual peste 15.000 de profesioniști din domeniul afacerilor. În cadrul a 11 scene, pe parcursul a două zile, vorbitori internaționali și locali de renume prezintă informații cheie despre inteligența artificială, securitatea cibernetică, marketingul digital, orașele inteligente, dezvoltarea de software și multe altele.

Participarea Facultății de Contabilitate și Informatică de Gestiune la un eveniment de o asemenea anvergură are ca obiectiv principal consolidarea vizibilității facultății și a Academiei de Studii Economice din București în mediul economic. Această inițiativă reprezintă un cadru propice pentru dezvoltarea relațiilor de colaborare cu mediul de afaceri și pentru facilitarea tranziției studenților de la formarea universitară către integrarea pe piața muncii.

Prin participarea la GoTech World, Facultatea de Contabilitate şi Informatică de Gestiune reafirmă angajamentul său față de inovare, performanță și adaptarea continuă la tendințele actuale din domeniul tehnologiei și al științelor economice. De asemenea, astfel de acțiuni contribuie la creșterea relevanței programelor de studii și la pregătirea unor viitoare generații de absolvenți competitivi, capabili să răspundă provocărilor unei economii digitale în continuă evoluție.

 


 

Between November 11 and 12, 2025, the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems will participate as an exhibitor at GoTech World, the most important B2B exhibition and conference in Central and Eastern Europe. GoTech World attracts over 15,000 business professionals every year. Over the course of two days, renowned international and local speakers will present key information on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital marketing, smart cities, software development, and much more on 11 stages.

The main objective of the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems’ participation in such a large-scale event is to strengthen the visibility of the faculty and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies in the economic environment. This initiative provides a favorable framework for developing collaborative relationships with the business community and facilitating the transition of students from university education to the labor market.

By participating to the GoTech World, the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems reaffirms its commitment to innovation, performance, and continuous adaptation to current trends in technology and economic sciences. Such actions also contribute to increasing the relevance of study programs and preparing future generations of competitive graduates capable of responding to the challenges of an ever-evolving digital economy.

CIG @ International Business Simulation Challenge

În perioada 6-7 noiembrie 2025, Universitatea 1 Decembrie 1918 din Alba-Iulia a organizat, în parteneriat cu ASE București și ASEM Chișinău, competiția International Business Simulation Challenge. La competiție au participat profesori și studenți din 14 universități din România și Republica Moldova.

Domnul prof. univ. dr. Bogdan-Ștefan Ionescu a fost keynote speaker, alături de echipa care a creat platforma Arkhe.

Echipa CIG-ASE, formată din Jianu Andrei-Mihai, Grigore Florentina-Eliza și Mănică Andreea, studenți în anul 1 la ”Contabilitate, control și expertiză”, a câștigat locul I.

Felicitări dragi studenți! Suntem foarte mândri de voi!


Between 6-7 November 2025, the 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba-Iulia organised, in partnership with ASE Bucharest and ASEM Chișinău, the International Business Simulation Challenge competition. The competition was attended by professors and students from 14 universities in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

Prof. Bogdan-Ștefan Ionescu was the keynote speaker, alongside the team that created the Arkhe platform.

The CIG-ASE team, consisting of Jianu Andrei-Mihai, Grigore Florentina-Eliza, and Mănică Andreea, first-year students in „Accounting, Control, and Expertise,” won first place.

Call for Papers: Symposium “Rethinking Economic Models: Sustainability, Finance, and Accounting in Times of Transformation”

The global economy faces unprecedented challenges, from climate change and resource depletion to financial instability and technological disruption. Traditional economic models, often prioritising short-term growth over long-term sustainability, are increasingly inadequate in addressing these issues. In response, there is a growing need to rethink economic frameworks, integrating sustainability, responsible finance, and innovative accounting practices.

The Symposium “Rethinking Economic Models: Sustainability, Finance, and Accounting in Times of Transformation”, to be held in Bucharest, Romania, brings together academics, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore transformative approaches that align economic systems with environmental and social well-being.
How to participate and deadlines to follow

There are two possibilities for attending the symposium:

2. By presenting a paper: Researchers may submit any complete, original, and unpublished research papers, either conceptual or empirical. To participate, participants need to submit an abstract of 200 to 300 words, along with the authors’ names and full contact details, before 30th January 2026.
